You know that feeling when you get a brand-new scrapbook workshop kit, and it comes with beautifully detailed step-by-step instructions? And then you look at those instructions, smile politely, and do your own thing anyway? Yep. That was me this week!
Everyday You & Me Scrapbook Workshop
In my latest YouTube video, I took Stampin’ Up!’s brand-new Everyday You & Me Scrapbook Workshop and gave it my own creative twist. Now, don’t get me wrong—this workshop is fantastic as-is! It comes with everything you need to create three gorgeous two-page layouts, complete with easy-to-follow directions. But let’s be honest… sometimes we just need to go rogue and let our creativity run wild. And that’s exactly what I did!
Scrapbooking 1976—Yes, You Read That Right
For this project, I decided to tackle a truly vintage moment—my 1976 middle school graduation. (Yikes. How did that happen?) We’re talking feathered hair, bell bottoms, and a time when disco was still cool. I figured if I was going to go “off-script,” I might as well take a serious trip down memory lane while I was at it!
The Everyday You & Me kit was designed for modern scrapbooking, but hey—rules are meant to be bent, right? So, with a little creative finagling, I adapted the workshop to fit my decades-old (ouch) photos. And let me tell you, seeing those middle school memories come to life on a fresh new scrapbook page was a mix of nostalgia.

Why Follow the Rules When You Can Make Your Own?
I took the beautifully coordinated papers, embellishments, and designs from the kit and decided to put my own spin on things. (Because if I followed instructions all the time, where would the fun be?) My final two-page layout is full of color, layers, and personality—just like everyday life!
Of course, there were a few "Oops, that wasn’t the plan" moments, but isn’t that just part of the creative process? A little extra adhesive here, a strategically placed embellishment to cover a misstep there, and boom—scrapbooking magic!
